Fringe is an ornamental textile trim applied to an edge of a textile item, such as drapery, a flag, or epaulettes. Fringe first came into fashion as an embellishment in the 1920s.
It is part of the flapper look. This look is a popular dress style for women. They say Fringe even originated way back in 3000 B.C. in Mesopotamia (now Iraq).
2022 runways were filled with fringe! From outerwear to accessories and back again, it's no secret that the fashion industry has been obsessed with all things European lately.

New Year’s resolution has a lot to do with characterized empathy which doesn’t include our wardrobe but now we all have at least one sense of self-awareness which we are going to apply to our new year’s fashion resolution…..
In 2023, sleek, heeled, black leather boots will be the most popular shoe on everyone's feet. The key to this trend is wearability—the heel height itself shouldn't be very high at all! Instead, look for a boot with a kitten heel height. This style looks amazing with long dresses and skirts. “Some of the most popular items are biker-style staples such as moto jackets, and tall boots and leather pants are sure to hit the streets. And if workwear – especially overalls – and leggings will be trying to impose themselves into women's wardrobes in the course of 2023, baggy jeans are almost sure to be a major hit on the street as well. While skinny jeans will never really go “out”. Because of their classic nature, there's been a move toward more relaxed denim cuts over the last few seasons. And that looser silhouette will continue to pick up momentum in 2023.

Bow dresses, bow shirts, bow sweaters, bow jumpsuits, and more have already begun popping up, proving we're well on our way to them taking over.
There's really no wrong way to wear this trend — oversized, delicate, as an accessory, etc. Now, in 2023, as we recover from a party season that wasn't quite what any of us expected, they're a simple addition to signal to the world that you're ready to keep the party going. Even if it's all just in (or on) your head.

Cheerful weekend
A number of fashion events got people intrigued, disappointed, and fascinated and the fashion industry experienced loads of showcases and events. My fav of them all was fashion designer Boye Doe’s official launch of the Wabi Sabi ethical elegant spring-summer 23 collections. It boldly celebrates the transient, impermanent and imperfect nature of life.
This event was organized by Debonair Afrik events and held at the Tunnel lounge Airport Residential…. The event featured our beautiful young talented songstress Cina Soul who wore a two-piece from the Wabi Sabi collection and sang her melodious soul to appease the audience.

This year’s Accra fashion week featured quite a number of local and foreign designers who graced us with their magnificent works of Art designs. I went from seeing our models to regular people and physically challenged people. This is indeed a new era for fashion…..

Christmas is around the corner and all we want is to show up and show off. Shopping spree for the girls and booze for the boys.
Most of the dresses for Christmas 2022 will be in red in all its shade variations, as people are looking to return to old customs, that is, keeping the tradition will be the great differential of this year's festivities.
Red and green are the classic Christmas colors, but they're not the only hues associated with the holiday—and each one has its own special meaning. It's definitely something to keep in mind when choosing Christmas ornaments and other assorted holiday decor. Anything red, green, plaid or tartan is perfect for a Christmas themed photo shoot. A family can mix plaids too – red plaid, green plaid, and solid colors from the patterns go well together.

Hoop earrings were once a part of the ensemble of Kings and Queens to signify their social status – today they are a statement of confidence, strength, and diversity. Being a perfect circle, hoop earrings symbolize wholeness, unity and infinity.
Huggie earrings take their name from their design. Most often they consist of small, metal hoops that 'hug' the ear, very close to the earlobe. Hoop earrings originated in Mesopotamia and it was ancient peoples of the African civilization, like the Egyptians (Cleopatra wore them) that first wore hoops.
Sumerian women in Mesopotamia around 2500 B.C. are believed to be the earliest adopters of wearing hoop earrings. Hoop earrings first gained popularity in the 1980s among middle- and lower-class African American and Latina women. It has remained an indispensable item for various societies. However, Hoop earrings are more than simply a trend for certain women; it is intrinsic to their identity as strong, proud women of colour.

There are modern ways to reinvent old clothes into becoming new outfits without the fuzz of wearing old clothes again.
Recent trends show how emphasis are shifting towards rhinestones, pearls, and crystals in every outfit. These were items mostly seen on kid’s clothing but have become a trend for adults clothing.
Imagine owning a plain corset with no design or sheerness to it. One can recreate their style into something more sophisticated by carefully selecting and applying geographical features to the outfit by needlework or gluing these semi gems on the outfit. Rhinestones can be applied to fabric with glue, which- because of its versatility- is the most common application choice. Rhinestones can also be applied by hand sewing, by metal settings, or by a household iron or heat tool.

Suits were originally made for gentlemen but with time women adopted it. The word suit derives from the French suit, meaning “following”, from some Late Latin derivative form of the Latin verb sequel translated I follow, because the component garments (jacket and trousers and waistcoat) follow each other and have the same cloth and colour and are worn together.
Just like people, fashion is becoming more acceptable and versatile. Today, women can carry off suits, sometimes even better than men. In fact, a suit set has now become an essential in every woman’s closet.
The bar for selecting a woman’s suit is a bit different when compared to a men’s suit. Since women’s clothing is generally a lot more diverse, the options are many. Hence, there is a lot more scope for experimentation.

Travelling can be exciting, but the preparations can be very exasperating. And then there are those uncontrolled things in us called hormones, which regulate our fertility and the time our flow starts (and in the process these hormones often greatly influence our mood). To make a very long story very short, all this excitement might completely disturb your monthly rhythm, so don’t be surprised if unexpectedly your flow starts after only 14 days or so. So it is prudent to carry a few tampons or bandages or whatever you are using. Enjoy your trip
