Hoops, loops and earrings
Hoop earrings were once a part of the ensemble of Kings and Queens to signify their social status – today they are a statement of confidence, strength, and diversity. Being a perfect circle, hoop earrings symbolize wholeness, unity and infinity.
Huggie earrings take their name from their design. Most often they consist of small, metal hoops that 'hug' the ear, very close to the earlobe. Hoop earrings originated in Mesopotamia and it was ancient peoples of the African civilization, like the Egyptians (Cleopatra wore them) that first wore hoops.
Sumerian women in Mesopotamia around 2500 B.C. are believed to be the earliest adopters of wearing hoop earrings. Hoop earrings first gained popularity in the 1980s among middle- and lower-class African American and Latina women. It has remained an indispensable item for various societies. However, Hoop earrings are more than simply a trend for certain women; it is intrinsic to their identity as strong, proud women of colour.

Pearls, ribbons, and sparkles
There are modern ways to reinvent old clothes into becoming new outfits without the fuzz of wearing old clothes again.
Recent trends show how emphasis are shifting towards rhinestones, pearls, and crystals in every outfit. These were items mostly seen on kid’s clothing but have become a trend for adults clothing.
Imagine owning a plain corset with no design or sheerness to it. One can recreate their style into something more sophisticated by carefully selecting and applying geographical features to the outfit by needlework or gluing these semi gems on the outfit. Rhinestones can be applied to fabric with glue, which- because of its versatility- is the most common application choice. Rhinestones can also be applied by hand sewing, by metal settings, or by a household iron or heat tool.

Suits and dinner
Suits were originally made for gentlemen but with time women adopted it. The word suit derives from the French suit, meaning “following”, from some Late Latin derivative form of the Latin verb sequel translated I follow, because the component garments (jacket and trousers and waistcoat) follow each other and have the same cloth and colour and are worn together.
Just like people, fashion is becoming more acceptable and versatile. Today, women can carry off suits, sometimes even better than men. In fact, a suit set has now become an essential in every woman’s closet.
The bar for selecting a woman’s suit is a bit different when compared to a men’s suit. Since women’s clothing is generally a lot more diverse, the options are many. Hence, there is a lot more scope for experimentation.

What to wear when traveling far, again.
Travelling can be exciting, but the preparations can be very exasperating. And then there are those uncontrolled things in us called hormones, which regulate our fertility and the time our flow starts (and in the process these hormones often greatly influence our mood). To make a very long story very short, all this excitement might completely disturb your monthly rhythm, so don’t be surprised if unexpectedly your flow starts after only 14 days or so. So it is prudent to carry a few tampons or bandages or whatever you are using. Enjoy your trip
Heels are masterpieces….

Modern African Girl lifestyle
Societal Norms try to force the Modern African Girl to adapt exhausting lifestyle and body changes. What happened to being natural and aesthetically appealing to the human eye? What happened to embracing our natural bodies without surgical interventions? Of course, if there’s a huge natural problem with a particular body part, you’d probably need fixing it, but that does not change the fact that these now unfortunately normalized surgical body enhancements are mostly not safe and that too many young ladies have died under the knife.

Fashion event clash
Organizing events is not easy but one can sure do make it simple and classy. Timing is key in everything …. Whereas in the event world. Fashion event date clashes a lot in our part of the world unlike the western hemisphere. For instance, New York fashion week will not schedule their events same time as Paris Fashion week…. This gives room for both event and its guest to enjoy the experience planned.

Event misfires….
Wondering what makes Red Carpet Events so intriguing??? The glam, the design, the outfits, the colors, the theme, flashing lights, cameras rolling, photoshoots, backdrops, interviews etc all come to life the night of the event. But one thing is certain, and very unfortunate, the delay in time. For some time now, the fashion events world in Ghana has been poorly coordinated to the extent that the events start 2 to 3 hours later than announced. Well !!! Can we blame them? How can events start on time when guests are mostly arriving late? Also, why won’t guests arrive late when consistently events don’t start at the announced time which then ends up sinking deep into the night, ruining their experience at the show?
This is becoming a norm that needs to be eliminated. The whole thing smells of total disrespect for guests by organizers, resulting in guests also showing up later and so forth. A friend of mine even refuses to attend any event with me, be it fashion or music. And he is right, the recent Rave concert at Kokrobite started 3 hours late and I left before the main act because it was becoming too late and I had things to do the next day, Blue Crest Fashion School Graduation show started an hour late and as I was part of the models they kept me busy doing nothing for 8 hours for a 2-minute catwalk. Poorly organized. You cannot have your guests check their watch all the time instead of focusing on the program, which is the reason why they attend the event.
There are many instances where guests arrive at fashion shows and the center isn’t even ready with the setup and carpets are still being rolled out. So they have to linger around to beat time. So now, if everybody decides to come late, then everybody is on time, which isn’t right.

Events Lineup
A fashion show( Fashion défilé de mode) is an event put on by a fashion designer or creative to showcase their upcoming line of clothing and/or accessories, during a fashion week. Fashion shows debut every season, particularly the Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter seasons. This is where the latest fashion trends are made. Here in Ghana it usually happens 1st quarter of the year or last quarter of the year. Next on the list of shows coming up this season is Rhythms on the Runway which debuted 10 years ago and is set to go bigger on Sunday November 20th 2022. This year's 10th anniversary is happening at the Grand Arena at the Accra International Conference center with tickets going for Ghc200cedis regular and Ghc400cedis VIP. With quite a number of influential companies sponsoring this show. Highlight of the night is great music, amazing fashion, compelling vision, one people. Over the years, this event has graced us with lots of great designers, personalities, musicians, movie stars, celebrities all walking the runway. With an honorary award dedicated after or in between the program line up. Its a creativity meets personality kind of event. Meaning one gets the opportunity to meet and interact with people of high social status at ease. So if you are looking to see a night filled with bliss, glam with music, then make a date because you are going to have the best night ever.
